The winners were Owen Gentes and David Laroque. This is also known as the day the lights went out in Horse Lake. The participant list was very large this year, with XX teams. The tournament was moved out to the “Gardens” and the single pit meant that we played right through until dark. Lights were brought out for the finals and the oohs and aahs of the final throws mixed quickly with the oohs and aahs of the fireworks.
The second place team was Andrew Gentes and Dave Metheral. In the final it was father shooting against son, and David shooting against Dave.

First come, first serve when it comes to tenting sites.

The cards are shuffled and prepared for the official pairing up of entrants for the tournament. Officially weighed, measured and polished horseshoes at the ready.

The Aunties talk and laugh, as pairing of the cards is carefully monitored by the official legal representation.

Although a bit pale, Marion Laroque welcomes Adolph and Loretta Duquette to the tournament to honor their 50th wedding anniversary.

In previous years, they were champions together, but this year Roy Nicolas throws against Greg Laroque.
