The winners were Keith Trueman and Robert Laroque, with the belts presented by last year’s winners, Owen Gentes and David Laroque. The new winner trophy was ordered, built, and delivered on time for the presentation. A second set of pits were added to the Horse Lake Gardens, and the tournament went much faster with many more games being played.
The second place winners were Brent Laroque and Greg Laroque, and they were presented the “Swing and a Miss” trophy for the second place team in the tournament.

Everyone gathering around to pick their random card from the deck, and then trying to find its match to see who their partner will be.

New belts were made, a version III, generously donated by Wes Laroque. Made of genuine Saskatchewan Seal Skin. That’s the good stuff for those that do not know.

The “Horse Lake Champion” belts were replaced by the “Horseshoe World Champion” belts (from version II to version III).

Simon Gentes illustrating his arm extension…too bad he missed says his partner, Sheila Laroque.

First and Second place trophies made their public debut, along with the sacred “Holy Horsehoe” holder, making its one and only public viewing of the year.

The 2017 year was the year that the “Clip Board of Power” showed up. The number of participants increased, and the number of jobs, and organizational duties dictated that one clip board was meant to rule them all. This clip board is still the gold standard of all clip boards, so please do not bring your own clip board to the tournament.
