Trophies

Trophies have been a big part of the Slobberknocker Series of events. They have been carefully crafted, and some have even evolved through time. Below are some of the images of all of the trophies that have been donated to the various events.

Building the Trophies

The final mock up of the various layers before they were okayed by the executive. Eventually the layers were sanded and stained. In the end, this version (V6) was voted on, and given the thumbs up to progress to the final stages by the majority of board members.

The second place trophy was donated by a family member who could never win. They decided to sponsor the second place trophy for all of those people who always tried, but could just never win. The “swing and a miss” trophy was made for all of those dejected folks who came close, but just couldn’t win the big one. Here is an early approved mock up.

The “Dead Ringer” trophy was made in response to the new side bet pool that started for Slobberknocker 2018, where the person getting the most ringers was awarded a special prize pool and trophy. This is the earliest version of the trophy, and version two was updated once budget permitted (i.e., we took in the empties).

The “Dead Ringer” trophy was quickly followed up by a gender specific trophy only available for all of our fabulous female entrants. The “Mst Ringers” trophy, evolved from a three- to a four-layered trophy through design, before it was finalized.

The Hardware

The winner trophies were unveiled to a tumultuous round of applause by the many thousands of people assembled. Or at least a couple of people.

Logan and Robert taking their second place trophy out for a round with the boys in 2019…I think this is when the trophy took on its first injury, as Robert holds the swinger together in approximately the correct place on top of the trophy.
